NBA Tips and Multi bet of the Weekend| Mar 15

Another day, another clean sweep for us on Thursday, a three-from-three day continuing what has been a hot streak of late. We’ll try to continue it over the weekend with a three-leg multi this Saturday on what is a big day of NBA action, with ten games taking place. There are plenty of big match-ups taking place, though unfortunately the standout between the Nuggets and Lakers might be a fizzer with LeBron James out and Luka Doncic potentially also being forced to sit. With a lot of uncertainty around that game we will be avoiding it, instead focusing on a couple of player props and the Celtics vs Heat game. Take a look at our three bets below.

Indiana Pacers @ Philadelphia 76ers

Saturday 15th of March, 10.00am AEDT, Wells Fargo Center

Quentin Grimes was one of our three successful bets a couple of days ago, and at odds too, with odds of better than $3 for him to score 25 or more points proving great value as he went on to score 29. That made it three in a row with at least 25 points – as well as five of the last seven – for the 24-year-old guard, and while betting sites are slowly adapting to his increased role, he is still fantastic value to hit that number once again. Grimes is averaging a tick under 30 points per game in his last three and in his last two has taken plenty of shots – 25 in the first and 23 in the second. With no Tyrese Maxey, Paul George or Joel Embiid, he has quickly become their primary source of offence, leading to plenty of scoring opportunities – and he is generally being pretty efficient with them. As we said the other day, Grimes can still be a little bit feast or famine – in the two games out of his last seven in which he hasn’t scored 25 or more points, he has managed just 14 and 6 points. But that only serves to make the 25+ even better value. Grimes’ line is set at about 21 points, but when he gets to that number he’s typically been going on with it and scoring quite a lot more. He’s good value to get 30+ as well, but 25+ is still going to add plenty of value to our NBA multi at nearly $3, particularly against a fast-paced team like the Pacers with relatively flimsy defence. This looks like a good way to kick off our multi with some really solid value.

Boston Celtics @ Miami Heat

Saturday 15th of March, 10.00am AEDT, Kaseya Center

The Heat have had a bit of a tumultuous season courtesy in no small part to Jimmy Butler, but despite the disruptions he caused, with him now in Golden State they are in a serious slump. They have lost five games on the trot, the last four of which have been at home, and not all of them have been against particularly good teams. A five-point loss in Cleveland was understandable and a two-point defeat at the hands of the Timberwolves not the worst, but in their last three they have been beaten, in Miami, by the Chicago Bulls, the Charlotte Hornets, and finally the Los Angeles Clippers by 15 points. That doesn’t bode well for them against a Celtics’ team which will be breathing fire after a disappointing six-point loss to their potential NBA Finals opponent in the Thunder a couple of days ago. Though they have only the third bet record in the league, the Celtics remain right alongside OKC as the standout championship favourites with every betting agency, and prior to that Thunder defeat had won five games in a row. Interestingly, the Celts have actually been significantly better on the road than they have in Boston this season, boasting a 24-7 record away from their home court, so heading to Miami shouldn’t pose too many problems for this talented team, particularly given their opponent has been a mess wherever they play of late. The line of 7.5 does not look like nearly enough given the gap between these two teams at the minute, and the Celtics should be able to cruise past it and probably record a double-digit victory.

Los Angeles Clippers @ Atlanta Hawks

Saturday 15th of March, 10.30am AEDT, State Farm Arena

Caris Levert has had a solid few years playing in Cleveland, but he saw a reduction in minutes and production through the first half of the season and was traded to the Hawks a few weeks ago. With big shoes to fill as essentially a replacement for Sixth Man of the Year contender Deandre Hunter off the bench, Levert has responded in emphatic fashion with a really strong start to life in Atlanta. Through his first 13 games in his new colours, Levert is averaging 16.7 points in 28 minutes on over 50% shooting, and his last few games have been particularly impressive. In his last eight games, Levert is averaging 18.8 points, and has scored at least 15 points on all but one of those occasions. That’s a strike rate of 87.5%, and yet he is paying better than even money to get there again in this game. NBA betting sites have his line set at 13.5 points, and we are going to snap that up before it changes as the second leg of our multi. The only thing going against him in this game is that the Clippers are a solid enough defensive team and don’t generally play in the most high-scoring of games, but the Hawks’ rapid pace of play means the line for this game is still at a higher-than-average 233.5. Levert is relishing the game style of his new team and the increased responsibility that he has been given on a team with less offensive weapons than what he had to contend with in Cleveland, and his line in this game doesn’t look to have been adjusted nearly enough to account for his new role. Levert to score over 13.5 looks like a good one to hopefully finish off our multi.
