Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | February 22nd

It looks like a decent afternoon of action at Rosehill on Saturday with some excellent contests in which to take on the horse racing bookmakers. They include a class dropper in a Group 2 who is looking for a winning start to their autumn prep.

Rosehill R5 #1 - Makarena $1.95

Although she only won once in five starts in her spring prep, three of her other four starts saw her produce a run that was strong enough to win this Group 2. After just 13 career starts, she is still lightly-raced enough to have some stronger form still to come and she is one of just two runners in this field who have a rating in triple figures. Hinged is the other one but that mare has had 40 races and holds no secrets from anyone.

Rosehill R6 #3 - Wodeton $2.05

Cost a cool $1.6 million at the sales but suggested that might be money well spent when he absolutely destroyed his rivals on his debut over this track and distance. That was back in January and on softer ground than he will encounter here but he pulled almost four lengths clear. Those who were behind him on that occasion have not done much to help the form level since but he was visually hugely impressive and warrants his place at this level.

Rosehill R8 #1 - Broadsiding $2.20

All four of his runs during his spring prep came in Group 1 company, kicking off his autumn campaign in a Group 2. He was a winner over this track and distance on the first start of that spring prep, getting no luck in running second time up before a solid run when third in the Cox Plate, one place in front of Mr Brightside. Has a huge amount in hand on his rivals here in a race off level weights so it would be very disappointing if he did not salute on his opening run of this prep.

Stats and Insights

  • Rosehill is a little over 2000m around with a home straight of a little over 400m.
  • James Cummings has a +21 ROI at this track over the last 12 months. He saddles the final leg Broadsiding.
  • Races over 1100m-1300m especially provide a good advantage to those starting from an inside barrier.
  • Nobody has more winners at this track so far this season than Chris Waller as a trainer and Kerrin McEvoy as a jockey. They combine with Wodeton.

There should be plenty of action on the betting sites this weekend. Group-quality races make for a good card on which to look for bets. There are some strong ones at Rosehill on Saturday afternoon so it is the better class racing where we have looked for our three multibet selections.
