Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | March 15th

There are a string of quality races late on the Caulfield card. They are some tricky contests, however, with the better bets on the card with which to take on the horse racing bookmakers coming much earlier. The picks include one of the most progressive runners of the season so far.

Caulfield R1 #4 - Revelare $1.50

Deeply progressive this season, winning five races in a row ahead of this contest. He has won from off a very slow pace as well as a fast gallop so his rivals are struggling to find a way to beat him. He has done plenty of racing in this prep but with only eight starts in his life, there is the potential for him still to have better to come. Connections could easily have thrown him in deeper but they continue to step him up in class gradually.

Caulfield R2 #1 - Regal Vow $3.00

Closed out her last prep with a Listed win on Boxing Day. That came over 1600m on the heath track here at Caulfield. She was a comfortable winner over this 1400m at the main track in a Bm 84 here in November and should get this race run to suit on a surface that is ideal for her. She tends to be better caught second time up but that is even more the case with her main danger, Brazen Lady. She is the one to beat at the weights.

Caulfield R3 #2 - Miss Aria $3.20

Half a length behind the re-opposing Samangu when they clashed over this track and distance in February. She has a massive 4kg pull at the weights here which should be more than enough to turn that defeat around. Samangu got a very soft time of things on the front on that occasion and while there is not a massive amount of pace pressure here, there should be at least one who will not want to give Jordan Childs too much rope. That can set things up for the selection to get on top late.

Stats and Insights

  • Caulfield is a triangle-shaped track with a home straight of less than 400m.
  • Charlotte Littlefield and Craig Williams have a 35% strike rate and an ROI of +42.9 when they have combined this season as they do with Regal Vow.
  • Because of the shape of the track, low barriers have a bigger advantage in races from 1400-1800m.
  • An ROI of 14.1 has been achieved when Danny O’Brien and Damian Lane have combined since the start of last season. They have Miss Aria.

It is an intriguing card at Caulfield on Saturday afternoon. The big Group 1 race sees Pride Of Jenni who doesn’t win first up against Zardozi who doesn’t want the ground this quick so we have avoided that for three picks much earlier on the day.
