Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | February 15th

The quality of racing is really starting to ramp up as we head closer to the heart of the autumn schedule. The top-class performers are starting to reappear and that is the case at Randwick on Saturday with Via Sistina back in action, a short price on the betting sites.

Randwick R4 #1 - Yorkshire $2.50

A rapid improver this year, winning both of his starts in 2025 with a huge amount of ease. Although it was less than a length that he won by last time out, it was worth far more than the bare margin, given a canny ride by James McDonald to win with as little expenditure of energy as possible. He has now won five of his seven starts, with the promise of more to come. Up to 1600m for the first time could well be a catalyst for another jolt of progression and this is a little bit easier in terms of opposition than last time, despite the bigger impost.

Randwick R8 #5 - Via Sistina $2.00

One of the top horses on the planet at present. Four Group 1 wins in five races during her spring prep was an exceptional return, with her Cox Plate win one of the most visually impressive that we saw in the whole of last year. 1400m on her return to action is going to be a little on the short side but she has so much class that it should not be an inconvenience to her. She drops into a Group 2 on her first start of the prep, getting up in the nick of time to win the Winx Stakes over this track and distance on her first start in the spring.

Randwick R10 #7 - Perfumist $2.10

The three-year-old filly has been airborne this prep, winning her last four starts. Her last two wins have both come in Bm78 grade, a level that she is able to remain in here. Those have both come from the front, getting a soft time of things and she might need to work a little harder to get on top of these early. She has won from just off the speed so that is not a massive concern and the way that she has been progressing, there is every chance that there is going to be more still to come.

Stats and Insights

  • Randwick is more than 2200m around with an uphill home straight of 410m.
  • Bjorn Baker has an ROI of +107 at Randwick so far this season. He runs the final leg, Perfumist.
  • Races over 1800m-2400m have a decent advantage for those drawn in a low barrier.
  • Anna Roper rides Perfumist. She has five wins and five runner-up places in 20 rides for Bjorn Baker.

The horse racing bookmakers are going to be in for a busy couple of months as the volume of quality racing builds up. A Group 2 feature at Randwick on Saturday features a number of Group 1 winners as they make their return to racing.
