Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | April 12th

It is an outstanding card at Randwick on Saturday so we are taking two shots at the horse racing bookmakers from the Sydney track! Both the multibet and our main horse racing selections will come from the action with seven group races during the day.

Randwick R5 #8 - Autumn Glow $1.50

Yet to taste defeat in four career starts, the Chris Waller-trained filly should be able to extend that sequence to five on Saturday. Won a Group 2 race to end her last prep and had no problem dropping back to this distance against the boys to open this prep with a win. This is the toughest task of her career so far but there is no sign of a ceiling on her ability as things stand. With so few starts, it is easy to think that there is going to be better still to come from her which makes things tough for her rivals.

Randwick R6 #2 - Treasurethe Moment $1.75

The winner of seven straight starts and eight of the 10 in her career so far. She has saluted twice in Group 1 company, including the only prior time that she has raced over this distance of 2400m. That came in the VRC Oaks in November, and she is looking to add the Australian Oaks to her career tally here. She did well to win the early starts of this prep over distances too short, her first run over 1400m. That shows the remarkable level of talent she possesses, one of the top fillies in the country.

Randwick R8 #12 - Via Sistina $1.95

This is one of the big clashes of the day as the Australian racehorse of the year elect takes on Dubai Honour. The William Haggas-trained gelding is unbeaten in three starts in Australia but he was well behind Via Sistina on the only prior occasion they clashed. That was in the 2023 Champion Stakes at Ascot where the mare came out six and a half lengths in front. Dubai Honour has to give her more weight on Saturday than he did that day and he is drawn wide.

Stats and Insights

  • Randwick is a galloping course with more than 2,200m to cover in a circuit.
  • James McDonald has a 26% strike rate at Randwick this season. He rides Autumn Glow and Via Sistina.
  • Races over 2000m and 2400m give inside barriers more of a help than in sprints.
  • Since the start of last season, Matt Laurie has had eight runners on NSW Metro cards for three winners, two seconds and two thirds. He runs Treasurethe Moment.

There is a lot to get excited about on Saturday with the quality of racing at Randwick as high as any card in 2025 so far. The volume of top-notch runners on show will generate plenty of traffic for the betting sites as we look for a third straight winning multibet in a row.
