Wyong is not a track where we look for tips very often. The card on Saturday looks like a tempting one, however, so we are taking on the horse racing bookmakers with three tips across the 10 races on the afternoon.

Progressive type has only had three starts in his life. He won the first two of them at Scone in August before finishing second when returning from a spell at this track at the end of December. Steps up to 1100m for the first again here which is going to be a plus for him, an impressive winner over this distance on the second of his Scone wins. He has the fewest miles on the clock of any of these and should be capable of improving past this field on his way to better things.

Stepping up to 1350m is an interesting move from Bjorn Baker as he is yet to go beyond 1200m with this gelding so far. He hit the line hard when saluting in a Listed race at Canterbury last time out, so he is worth a try. There might not be that much early speed in here which might mean that this turns into a test of speed in the last 400m which would be a help as long as he settles through the first half of the race at a slower pace.

Runner-up in a similar race to this at Randwick last time out when in front of the re-opposing West Of Africa. The winner of that race was Accredited who went back to the same track last Saturday to win a much stronger race. With the form franked, it looks like the right line to take into this contest and although West Of Africa has a fair swing at the weights, the pick has much more room for better to come than that rival.

It has made a nice change to look over the betting sites for some picks at Wyong this week. There are a couple of potentially smart types in the multitip this week who could be running at our more regularly visited tracks later this season.
