Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | March 8th

We had every intention of heading to Randwick and their multi Group 1 card for our multibet. With soft ground and a string of tricky-looking races, we have moved to South Australia and take on the horse racing bookmakers at Murray Bridge instead.

Murray Bridge R1 #3 - Ghetto Superstar $2.50

It is almost a year since he last got his head in front but he has been running in better company than this. His three starts so far in this prep saw him start off at Sandown before a pair of runs at Flemington. He was runner-up in the first of those at the Melbourne track in a Bm84. This contest is a Bm70 in the country so he should find this an awful lot easier. He has raced here just once so far when he was beaten a hair in a Bm78 back in October.

Murray Bridge R5 #6 - Gin Spirit $1.85

A winner of two of the first three starts of her career, she saluted in a Listed race most recently at Morphettville. That level of form is a fair way ahead of any of her rivals who have made a racetrack appearance so far. There are some fair unraced types in opposition but they are going to have to be well above average if they are to get the better of a Listed winner on their first time up. This drop in track quality can see her score again.

Murray Bridge R8 #5 - Bakeel $1.50

Produced a string of placed efforts in Listed contests in Singapore through 2024. He was a comfortable winner from the widest barrier at Morphettville to kick off this prep. A trip to a country track should allow him to double that tally here. Although it is hard to know exactly what the Listed Kranji form is worth, the way that he won in Adelaide suggests that he is going to be ahead of his official rating for a while yet. It is no surprise that he is the shortest price on the card.

Stats and Insights

  • Murray Bridge is 1850m around, with a home straight of a little over 400m.
  • Jason Holder has ridden four times for the Hayes brothers this season with three winners and a second. They team up with Gin Spirit.
  • A curved back straight gives an advantage to low-drawn horses.
  • Aaron Bain and Ned Taylor have an ROI of +28.5 at Murray Bridge this season, they run Bakeel.

It is an afternoon full of interesting runners at Murray Bridge on Saturday. A lot of nice types with city form are looking for a win in easier surroundings and we hope to have found three of them while studying the betting sites to get a multibet together.
