Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | April 5th

The card at Caulfield on Saturday might not be quite so busy on the betting sites as the one at Randwick but there is plenty to be interested in. There are some solid horses in action across the afternoon and we have picked out three of the best.

Caulfield R1 #6 - Scenic Point $1.80

A Listed race for two-year-old horses to kick the card off and it could be the perfect place to kick off our multibet courtesy of this filly. She has only had a single start so far in her life, putting three and a half lengths between herself and the runner-up in a Pakenham maiden. The time that she produced reads well given her age and the fact that all the money was for her that day suggests that those in the know believe that she is well above average. She can prove that here.

Caulfield R2 #9 - Heart Of Glass $2.80

Likes to come through runners so she could do with a decent pace to aim at here. This does not map to be a breakneck gallop but there are enough who like to be close to the speed to keep things rolling along early. Was runner-up over this track and trip on his first start of this prep in the middle of March. It has been a while since she last got her head in front but she will be helped by the forecast rain at the same level of race as last time.

Caulfield R5 #2 - Statuario $2.40

Three starts so far in this prep have come in a Group 1 and a pair of Group 2 races. This should be much more to his liking with his sights lowered and stepped up in distance. His dam is a full-sister to the Cranbourne Cup winner Boom ‘n’ Zoom, a race run over this distance. The impression that he gave when running over 2000m at The Valley on his most recent start was that he was well worth a try over this far himself.

Stats and Insights

  • Caulfield is a little under 2100m around with a home straight of just under 400m.
  • Harry Coffey has an ROI of +121 at Caulfield so far this season. He gets the ride on Heart Of Glass.
  • It is over the distances of 1400m, 1600m and 1800m that inside barriers gain the biggest advantage at Caulfield.
  • Daniel Stackhouse is second only to Blake Shinn in the volume of winners at Caulfield in the last 12 months. He rides the first leg, Scenic Point.

Another interesting card at Caulfield on Saturday with a nice mix of action. We have taken a couple of risks as we try to go back-to-back with our wins over the horse racing bookmakers with our multibet this week.
