Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | February 1st

It is a trip to Rosehill on Saturday afternoon where we are set to take on the horse racing bookmakers with our $503 Multibet. The track has been improving all week, drying out nicely to make for the perfect racing surface.

Rosehill R2 #9 - Pocketing $2.30

Yet to finish worse than second in five career starts. Connections will be pleased that the track has been improving from a soft surface as he has shown his best form on good ground so far. It might have been the Soft 6 surface that cost him being 2/2 when first up, (as he is here) to start off his last prep at Hawkesbury. Still has untapped potential and for powerful connections, there should be plenty of improvement to come from him during the autumn.

Rosehill R5 #6 - Polyglot $2.50

Far more impressive than the bare 1.41l margin suggested on his return to action over 1100m at this track. Up to 1200m here is going to be a plus for him which can help to iron out the slight negative of a wide barrier. That might not be too much of an issue given that he is ridden forward anyway. He is yet to encounter good ground but his dam loved it quick when she ran for Godolphin in the UK so that seems unlikely to be an issue for him.

Rosehill R10 #8 - Yorkshire $1.75

Has saluted in four of his six career starts to this point, finishing second and third in the other two. Absolutely thrashed them at Wyong last time out, fully justifying his short odds at the top of the market. Has gone from the front in the past but has been ridden with a little more restraint in this prep with both producing wins. Capable of much better still to come and the slight rise up to 1500m should not be an issue for him given how hard he hits the line.

Stats and Insights

  • Rosehill is a little over 2000m around and is almost square in shape.
  • James McDonald has a 32% strike rate at Rosehill so far this season, winning on 15 of his 47 rides. He has the ride on both Polyglot and Yorkshire.
  • As with most tracks in Australia, inside barriers have an advantage at Rosehill. This is more notable in sprint contests.
  • James Cummings is also enjoying a good season at Rosehill. His runners have a level stakes profit of +29. He teams with James McDonald for the middle leg, Polyglot.

Another Saturday with three unexposed types making up the multibet. All three look capable of being far better than their current ratings later on in the autumn. The betting sites look wary of them with their odds and that is probably wise of them.
