Emirates Stadium, 5:45 AM, Wednesday, April 2

Fulham crashed out of the FA Cup on Saturday in a 0-3 loss at home to London rivals Crystal Palace. They will have an opportunity to make things right on Wednesday against Arsenal, and we actually like their chances.

One of the reasons Fulham played so poorly is that Marco Silva used a slightly rotated side. Stars Raul Jimenez, Emile Smith Rowe, and Tom Cairney were all benched for the FA Cup match. They should start on Wednesday and have a big impact as the Cottagers fight for a spot in the top eight.

Arsenal, meanwhile, don’t have much to play for this season. Their title hopes are long gone –according to the betting odds at least– and they have so many injuries that it’s hard to know what to expect from the Gunners. Additionally, Arsenal have drawn or lost three straight matches against the Cottagers.

These things give Fulham a chance to steal at least a point.

Despite winning against Southampton before the break, Wolves are still in 17th place. However, they are much better than their place in the table indicates. We’ve been a broken record about this all season. But if you need more convincing, just look at Wolves’ Expected Goals Allowed (xGA) the actual amount of goals they’ve conceded.

Wolves have conceded 12 more goals (58) than their xGA says they should have (46.2). No other team has a larger gap than 5 goals. This tells us that Wolves have been unlucky defensively and conceded cheap goals that most teams don’t give up.

With all this being said, we don’t think the gap between West Ham and Wolves is that large. The Hammers’ xGA is nearly identical to Wolves’. However, they are actually better away from home than at the London Stadium.

This should be a tight game, but our EPL predictions say West Ham will come out on top.

We are nearly 80% through the 2024/25 Premier League season and Nottingham Forest’s form has still not let up. The Reds are third in the table and booked a spot in the FA Cup semi-final round with a win over Brighton on Saturday.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have lost just one of their last seven matches in all competitions. They seem to finally be turning things around. But has Ruben Amorim got his team to a level where they can beat Forest ? We don’t think so.

The Red Devils have a good overall record against Forest since the Reds returned to the EPL in 2022 (3W, 0D, 2L), but this is a bit deceiving. Apart from their first two meetings, Forest have been a team for ManU since they are happy to sit back and counter.

Forest won both their last two matches against Man Utd while having fewer expected goals. We expect something similar in Matchweek 30. Our EPL predictions say Forest are good money to get at least a draw.

After contending for a top-five place in February, Bournemouth’s form has fallen off a cliff. The Cherries suffered a 1-2 defeat at home to Brentford before the international break and have not won an EPL match since February 15th.

However, a win against Ipswich Town would bring Andoni Iraola’s team right back into the fight for a spot in Europe next season. To be blunt about it, Bournemouth should be able to get the win they need here.

Ipswich Town are definitely the best of the promoted teams this season, but we’ve seen enough of them to know that they’re not cut out for this level. The only reason the Tractor Boys can feel optimistic here is their last match against Bournemouth.

The Cherries only beat Ipswich by one goal at Portman Road earlier this season. Both of their goals came after the 87th minute. However, Bournemouth dominated the game. They had 22 shots, nearly 60% possession, and created five big chances. Barring a flukey goal, Bournemouth should win again.

Brighton suffered a heartbreaking penalty shootout defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday in the FA Cup. On the bright side, though, the last time the Seagulls lost a big match to Forest, they rattled off a seven-match unbeaten streak.

It will be tough for Fabian Hurzeler’s side to put together another run like that, especially since they have to take on Aston Villa in Matchweek 30.

Unai Emery’s team have been a bit of a bogey team for Brighton going all the way back to when they both were in the Championship. The Seagulls have won just one of their seven home matches against Villa since 2016. However, that win was last season. Brighton also drew 2-2 with Villa away in December.

These recent results have swayed us to back Brighton here. We also are wary of supporting Villa when they don’t have a full week’s rest. The Villains have won only one of their last four midweek EPL matches.

Despite their struggles this season, the betting sites have made Manchester City favourites for almost all of their EPL games this season. The Sky Blues didn’t deserve these odds a lot of times. In Matchweek 30 though, we can’t argue with the betting market.

Leicester City are awful. The Foxes have scored 0 goals in their last five matches and have conceded in 25 straight fixtures. They let Man Utd shut them out at home.

Man City’s problems are well known. They lack energy in the midfield and can be had by teams who are willing to go at them. Leicester don’t play on the front foot against anyone. This should be an easy win for the Sky Blues.

Newcastle have not played since their glorious win over Liverpool in the EFL Cup final at Wembley. They’ve done a lot of celebrating since that win though. So much so that a lot of Matchweek 30 predictions say that the Magpies will struggle to settle back into the pace of EPL soccer. We disagree.

Eddie Howe’s side have the seventh-best home record in the league this season. The St. James' Park crowd should be extra raucous in this match following their EFL Cup win.

Brentford aren’t as bad away from the home as they were earlier in the year. However, they still aren’t exactly a dominant side. Bournemouth are the only top-half team Brentford have beaten away from home this season.

Newcastle already beat Brentford at St. James' Park this year, winning an EFL Cup tie in December. Our EPL predictions like the Magpies’ chances of winning again here.

Crystal Palace put in a dominant performance against Fulham in the FA Cup on Saturday. This win secured the Eagles a spot in the semi-finals and keeps them in contention for Europe next season.

Southampton, on the other hand, will be playing in the Championship next year. Saints have won just two matches this season and could very easily end up being the worst team in EPL history. They need three points to break Derby County’s previous low points tally of 11.

Betting against Southampton has been one of the safest EPL bets this season. We recommend doing it again this week. Palace should win this match easily.

Everton’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the last Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park was one of the matches of the season. It will be tougher for them to get a result here at Anfield, but not impossible.

The Toffee’s have re-emerged as a strong, mid-table side under David Moyes. The club have not lost any of their last 9 EPL matches and have conceded more than one goal just once in their last five fixtures. However, they aren’t winning many matches. Five of their nine unbeaten matches have been draws, including the last three.

Liverpool have failed to win both of their last two matches, including the EFL Cup final against Newcastle. Even before those losses though, the Reds looked to be losing steam and going through the motions. This was on full display in theri 1-0 loss to Plymouth in the FA Cup last month.

Arne Slot’s side probably have enough talent to win against Everton, but we would not push back too much if you want to take a punt on Everton to get a draw here.

In previous years, Chelsea vs. Tottenham Hotspur would be one of the most anticipated matches of an EPL gameweek. This year though, it’s hard to feel much excitement about this fixture.

Chelsea started the season as one of the best attacking teams in the EPL, but they’ve somehow lost their edge. The Blues have scored more than one goal in a match just one time in their last 7 games. And that was against Southampton.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have looked off the pace since before the New Year. They suffered a 2-0 loss to Fulham before the international break and were nearly knocked out of the Europa league by AZ Alkmaar.

We say all this to say that anything can happen in this game. The soccer betting sites back Chelsea, but our EPL predictions are going for a draw.
