Brighton vs. Bournemouth
American Express Stadium, 6:30 AM, Wednesday, February 26
Brighton have won three straight matches since losing 7-0 to Nottingham Forest in Matchweek 24. Those results have put the Seagulls just two points out of fifth place, which is where Bournemouth currently sit in the table.
This will be a big test for both the Cherries and the Seagulls. Brighton won the last meeting back in November, but our money is on Bournemouth this time.
Brighton have won just one of their last five home matches in the Premier League. They also aren’t as deep as they look on paper. Whenever Fabian Hurzeler has experimented with his starting eleven, it usually hasn’t ended well.
Bournemouth, on the other hand, are a well-oiled machine. They have lost just two of their last 16 matches across all competitions. Yes, one of those losses was last week to Wolves, but we think they will bounce back strongly here.
Brighton vs. Bournemouth Prediction: 1-2
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Double Chance 2 - Bournemouth To WIN or DRAW | $1.72
Total Goals By Brighton - UNDER 1.5 | $1.88
OVER 2.5 Goals | $1.58 |
Predicted Lineups
Brighton: Verbruggen; Veltman, van Hecke, Webster; Estupinan; Adingra, Baleba, Hinshelwood, Mitoma; Rutter, Pedro
Bournemouth: Arrizabalaga; Cook, Hill, Huijsen, Kerkez; Christie, Adams; Brooks, Kluivert, Semenyo; Ouattara
Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa
Selhurst Park, 6:30 AM, Wednesday, February 26
Aston Villa pulled off a comeback victory against Chelsea on Saturday to keep their top-four dreams alive. As impressive as that result was, this could be a difficult match for the Villains.
Palace have had a mixed run of things at home recently (two losses in their last two home matches), but they have an identity and know how to cause problems for bigger sides.
Villa have won just one of their last five league matches and have consistently struggled playing midweek matches this season. When you add in Villa’s injuries in midfield (Onana & Kamara), it’s not hard to bet against them here.
Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa Prediction: 1-1
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Aston Villa Goals Range - Between 1 & 2 Inclusive | $1.60
Draw No Bet - Palace | $1.76
Both Teams To Score - YES | $1.70 |
Predicted Lineups
Palace: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Wharton, Lerma, Chilwell; Sarr, Mateta, Kamada
Villa: Martinez; Garcia, Konsa, Mings, Digne; McGinn, Tielemans; Bailey, Asensio, Ramsey; Watkins
Wolves vs. Fulham
Molineux Stadium, 6:30 AM, Wednesday, February 26
Fulham suffered a 2-0 defeat to London rivals Crystal Palace on Saturday. Normally you would want to play a relegation candidate after such a loss, but Wolves aren’t just any relegation candidate.
Vítor Pereira’s team are now five points out of the relegation zone after beating Bournemouth on the weekend. They also previously beat Fulham 4-1 at Craven Cottage earlier this season.
Given this history, we expect Fulham boss Marco Silva to try to slow the games down and make things ugly. Wolves need the points, but not enough to open up themselves for Raul Jimenez to punish them. We’re going for a draw here.
Wolves vs. Fulham Prediction: 1-1
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Double Chance 1 - Wolves To WIN or DRAW | $1.52
Draw No Bet - Wolves | $2.02
Both Teams To Score - YES | $1.72 |
Predicted Lineups
Wolves: Sa; Doherty, Bueno, Toti; Semedo, J. Gomes, Andre, Sarabia; Bellegarde, Guedes, Cunha
Fulham: Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Berge; Traore, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez
Chelsea vs. Southampton
Stamford Bridge, 7:15 AM, Wednesday, February 26
Chelsea are in a bit of a slump right now, but betting against Southampton has been one of the safest bets in the Premier League this season. The question here isn’t whether the Blues will win, but by how much. Our EPL predictions say it will be a big margin.
Enzo Maresca’s side put five goals past Saints in their first meeting this year. Southampton have conceded in all but two of their 26 Premier League matches this season. They gave up four to Brighton on Saturday and have conceded three or more goals in six of their last seven EPL matches.
The betting sites have made Chelsea just 1.5-goal favourites because of their poor form. We think that is very generous. If the Blues don’t win by 2+ goals, we will be stunned.
Chelsea vs. Southampton Prediction: 4-1
Predicted Lineups
Chelsea: Jörgensen; Gusto, Tosin, Colwill, Cucurella; Dewsbury-Hall, Caicedo; Neto, Palmer, Sancho; Nkunku
Southampton: Ramsdale; Aribo, Bree, Bella-Kotchap; Walker-Peters, Ugochukwu, Fernandes, Smallbone, Sugawara; Onuachu, Sulemana
Brentford vs. Everton
Gtech Community Stadium, 6:30 AM, Thursday, February 27
David Moyes nearly pulled off a victory with Everton against his old side Manchester United on the weekend. The Toffees had all three points in their hands before Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte scored two rapid-fire goals in the second half. Despite the draw, Everton are still sure to stay up this season.
Brentford, meanwhile, took care of business in a 4-0 win over Leicester City. The Bees have now won back-to-back matches. It will be interesting to see how they cope with a congested fixture schedule, especially since Christian Nørgaard is out injured.
The reverse fixture between these two was a 0-0 draw at Goodison. It’s cliche to pick something similar this time, but that’s what we’re going for.
All but one of the last five matches between these two teams have had less than 2.5 goals. Moyes isn’t as defensive as Sean Dyche, but we don’t expect him to roll out the red carpet for the Bees, so we can’t see a lot of goals here.
Brentford vs. Everton Prediction: 0-1
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
UNDER 2.5 Goals | $1.87 | |
Total Goals by Brentford - UNDER 1.5 | $1.72
Draw No Bet - Everton | $1.55 |
Predicted Lineups
Brentford: Flekken; Ajer, Collins, Pinnock, Lewis-Potter; Yarmolyuk, Janelt; Mbeumo, Damsgaard, Schade; Wissa
Everton: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Lindstrom, Alcaraz, Harrison; Beto
Manchester United vs. Ipswich Town
Old Trafford, 6:30 AM, Thursday, February 27
While Manchester United were able to salvage a draw against Everton in Matchweek 26, they are a bad team. This match will tell us just how bad they are truly.
Following their 4-1 loss to Tottenham, Ipswich Town have now lost five of their last six Premier League matches. They haven’t won away from home since mid-December. If Man Utd don’t win this, we’re going to have to start really talking about Ruben Amorim’s job security.
It’s possible Man Utd won't win though. They drew against the Tractor Boys back in November and have really struggled to convert their chances under Amorim.
Despite our gut instincts, we’re taking Man Utd to win. We think they will just barely get the job done on Wednesday.
Manchester United vs. Ipswich Town Prediction: 2-1
Predicted Lineups
Man Utd: Onana; Mazraoui, Maguire, De Ligt; Dalot, Fernandes, Ugarte, Dorgu; Zirkzee, Hojlund, Garnacho
Ipswich: Palmer; Godfrey, O’Shea, Greaves, Davis; Morsy, Cajuste; Philogene, Hutchinson, Clarke; Delap
Nottingham Forest vs. Arsenal
The City Ground, 6:30 AM, Thursday, February 27
If there was ever a title race this season, we can confidently say that it’s now over. Both Nottingham Forest and Arsenal –the two teams who had a small chance of catching Liverpool– suffered defeats last weekend.
Forest lost to Newcastle in a thrilling 4-3 match where they almost pulled off a last-minute comeback. Arsenal, meanwhile, looked absolutely dreadful in a 1-0 loss to West Ham where they went down to 10-men.
Arsenal’s biggest problem in that match (besides being down a man) was their struggles converting their chances. They took 20 shots, and just two were on target. They have coped a lot worse without Kai Havertz than we expected them to.
Given that Forest have the best defence in the league, we expect them to struggle again this week.
Nottingham Forest vs. Arsenal Prediction: 2-0
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Double Chance 1 - Forest To WIN or DRAW | $1.88
Both Teams To Score - NO | $1.82
UNDER 2.5 Goals | $1.70 |
Predicted Lineups
Forest: Sels; Aina, Murillo, Milenkovic, Williams; Yates, Anderson; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood
Arsenal: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Nwaneri, Merino, Trossard
Tottenham vs. Manchester City
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, 6:30 AM, Thursday, February 27
We’re always hesitant to bet against Pep Guardiola, but it’s clear the wheels have completely fallen off at Manchester City. Without Erling Haaland –who will miss this match with injury– the Sky Blues looked like a Championship side against Real Madrid and Liverpool in their last two fixtures.
They conceded five goals in those matches from just 2.5 xG. They created less than one expected goal against Liverpool.
Tottenham haven’t shed the “crisis club” label just yet either, but they are better than City right now. Spurs have won two matches in a row and their back line and attack are as healthy as they have been in months.
The betting sites like City, but we’re going for Tottenham here.
Tottenham vs. Manchester City Prediction: 3-2
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Draw No Bet - Tottenham | $2.50
Total Goals by Man City - UNDER 2.5 | $1.48
OVER 3.5 Goals | $1.85 |
Predicted Lineups
Tottenham: Vicario; Porro, Gray, Danso, Spence; Maddison, Bergvall, Bentancur; Kulusevski, Tel, Son
Man City: Ederson; Lewis, Khusanov, Ake, Gvardiol; Gonzalez, De Bruyne; Savio, Foden, Doku; Marmoush
Liverpool vs. Newcastle
Anfield, 7:15 AM, Thursday, February 27
Liverpool strengthened their grip on the Premier League title in Matchweek 26 with a dominating 2-0 win over Man City. The Reds are now 8 points ahead of Arsenal in second. They have lost just one league game this season.
Newcastle shouldn’t feel hopeless about this fixture though. The last time these two played was also a midweek fixture, where the Magpies scored three against Liverpool in a 3-3 draw.
Both of the last two matches between these teams had a combined score of six goals. We don’t see six happening again this time, but there should be lots of goals here.
Slot should rotate his side or stick with an unchanged eleven. Either way, that gives Newcastle a slightly better chance. Additionally, four of the last five games between these two have had over 2.5 goals.
Liverpool vs. Newcastle: 3-1
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Newcastle Goals Range - Between 1 & 2 Inclusive | $1.63
OVER 3.5 Goals | $2.00 | |
Both Teams To Score - YES | $1.52 |
Predicted Lineups
Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Gakpo
Newcastle: Pope; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Tonali, Guimaraes, Willock; Murphy, Isak, Gordon
West Ham vs. Leicester City
London Stadium, 7:00 AM, Friday, February 28
West Ham’s 1-0 win over Arsenal saw the Hammers jump up to 16th in the table. They have 30 points and are safe from relegation, but Graham Potter still has a lot of work to do. To be blunt, his side have gotten very lucky in their results so far.
They are out-performing their xG and will probably regress at some point. Thankfully for Potter and Co, they won’t need a lot of luck to beat Leicester City.
The Foxes are terrible right now. They lost 4-0 to Brentford on Saturday and Ruud Van Nistelrooy has reportedly fallen out with multiple members of the squad. We’ll be surprised if he makes it to the end of the season.
West Ham vs. Leicester Prediction: 2-1
Predicted Lineups
West Ham: Areola; Cresswell, Kilman, Todibo; Wan-Bissaka, Alvarez, Ward-Prowse, Soucek, Scarles; Bowen, Kudus
Leicester: Hermansen; Coulibaly, Faes, Okoli, Kristiansen; Ndidi, Soumare; Mavididi, El Khannouss, Ayew; Vardy
