Leicester City vs. Brentford
King Power Stadium, 7:00 AM, Saturday, February 22
There was a time when it looked like Leicester City might be the one promoted team to escape relegation this season. It’s still mathematically possible for the Foxes to survive, but it’s looking pretty unlikely right now.
Leicester suffered a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal last week and have scored just three goals in their last five matches. They have not kept a clean sheet at home since October.
Brentford, meanwhile, showed that they can win on the road with an impressive 1-0 victory over West Ham. The Bees have now won two straight away matches. They also are on a three-match winning streak against Leicester.
We think Brentford will win again here, but it should be easier to score. Leicester are more disorganised than the Hammers and five of the last fixtures between these two teams have featured over 2.5 goals.
Leicester City vs. Brentford Prediction: 1-2
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
OVER 2.5 Goals | $1.58 | |
Total Goals By Leicester - UNDER 1.5 Goals | $1.52
Brentford To WIN | $1.98 |
Predicted Lineups
Leicester: Hermansen; Coulibaly, Faes, Okoli, Kristiansen; Winks, Soumare; De Cordova-Reid, El Khannouss, Ayew; Vardy
Brentford: Flekken; Ajer, Collins, Pinnock, Lewis-Potter; Norgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Damsgaard, Schade; Wissa
Everton vs. Manchester United
Goodison Park, 11:30 PM, Saturday, February 22
Everton’s resurgence under David Moyes continued last week with an upset victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Manchester United, on the other hand, had a less fruitful visit to London. The Red Devils were defeated 1-0 by Tottenham.
Man Utd are now 15th in the table. Just two teams sit between them and the relegation zone. They probably won’t be relegated this season, but we don’t expect them to finish much higher than where they are now either.
An injury to Amad Diallo leaves just Bruno Fernandes as the only Man Utd player we can reliably count on. Everyone else looks like they are just waiting for the season to end.
Man Utd’s only saving grace here is history. They have won each of their last six matches against Everton. That kind of streak is hard to overlook, so we are going for a draw here.
Everton vs. Man Utd Prediction: 1-1
Predicted Lineups
Everton: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Lindstrom, Alcaraz, Harrison; Beto
Man Utd: Onana; Mazraoui, Maguire, De Ligt; Dalot, Fernandes, Ugarte, Dorgu; Zirkzee, Hojlund, Garnacho
Bournemouth vs. Wolves
Vitality Stadium, 2:00 AM, Sunday, February 23
Our EPL predictions last week predicted that Wolves would give Liverpool a tough time. They lost 2-1, but we were right about them putting up a good fight. Vítor Pereira’s side nearly pulled off a comeback in the second half against the Reds, proving again that they are better than their record shows.
Bournemouth took care of business against Southampton in a 3-1 route at St. Mary’s. The Cherries are now 5th in the table and pushing for a place in next season’s Champions League.
Andoni Iraola’s side beat Wolves 4-2 earlier this season, and we have no reason to expect anything different this weekend. Wolves have the third-worst away record in the EPL this season. No team has conceded more goals away from home.
Bournemouth vs. Wolves Prediction: 3-1
Predicted Lineups
Bournemouth: Arrizabalaga; Cook, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Christie, Adams; Brooks, Kluivert, Semenyo; Ouattara
Wolves: Sa; Doherty, Bueno, Toti; Semedo, Andre, Bellegarde, Ait-Nouri; Sarabia, Guedes, Cunha
Arsenal vs. West Ham
Emirates Stadium, 2:00 AM, Sunday, February 23
West Ham have won just one of their last eight matches. They suffered a 1-0 loss to Brentford last weekend, and our EPL predictions have them losing again in Matchweek 26.
Arsenal, despite their injuries in attack, are still one of the best teams in the Premier League. They also are a particularly bad matchup for West Ham.
The Gunners have outscored the Hammers 13-2 in their last three meetings. Yes, we know that those were David Moyes' West Ham teams, but they haven’t looked any better under Graham Potter.
Arsenal might not beat them five or six-nil, but this should be a convincing win for the Gunners.
Arsenal vs. West Ham Prediction: 2-0
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Arsenal -1.5 | $1.82 | |
Half Time/Full Time - Arsenal/Arsenal | $1.96
Both Teams To Score - NO | $1.64 |
Predicted Lineups
Arsenal: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Nwaneri, Trossard, Sterling
West Ham: Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman, Emerson; Alvarez, Soucek; Bowen, Kudus, Soler; Ferguson
Fulham vs. Crystal Palace
Craven Cottage, 2:00 AM, Sunday, February 23
Fulham are quietly one of the most in-form teams in the EPL right now. The Cottages have won four of their last five matches and have only lost two of their last 15. Palace had a similar record before losing 2-1 to Everton last weekend.
This should be a very closely-fought London derby match, so our money is on it being a draw. If we had to back one side though, it would be the Cottagers.
Fulham have turned Craven Cottage into a fortress during the second half of the season and also have a really strong record against the Eagles recently. Fulham haven’t lost to Palace in any of their last six meetings (2W, 4D).
Fulham vs. Crystal Palace Prediction: 1-1
Predicted Lineups
Fulham: Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Berge; Traore, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez
Palace: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Hughes, Lerma, Mitchell; Sarr, Mateta, Eze
Ipswich Town vs. Tottenham
Portman Road, 2:00 AM, Sunday, February 23
Tottenham have made a habit this season of throwing away points to struggling teams. They avoided doing this against Man Utd last weekend, but there’s a very real chance we could see them do it again here.
Ipswich Town beat Tottenham 2-1 back in November and just held Aston Villa to a 1-1 draw. The Tractor Boys were thoroughly dominated in that Villa match. They conceded 25 shots and six big chances.
We should see something similar this weekend against Tottenham, but we’re backing Spurs to do more with their chances this time than last.
Mathys Tel gives Spurs’ attack more balance and allows Son Heung-min to play in his natural left wing position. Ange Postecoglou has also opted for a more attacking midfield three recently with both James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall, which is sure to produce goals this weekend.
Ipswich Town vs. Tottenham Prediction: 1-3
Predicted Lineups
Ipswich: Palmer; Woolfenden, O’Shea, Greaves, Davis; Phillips, Cajuste; Johnson, Hutchinson, Broadhead; Delap
Tottenham: Kinsky; Porro, Danso, Davies, Spence; Maddison, Bergvall, Bentancur; Kulusevski, Tel, Son
Southampton vs. Brighton
St. Mary's Stadium, 2:00 AM, Sunday, February 23
Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler said he literally burned the tactics he used in the club’s 7-0 loss to Nottingham Forest following the match. This has already paid off for the young German as his team won back-to-back matches against Chelsea in the FA Cup and EPL, respectively.
Southampton are in the opposite position heading into this South Coast derby match. The Saints have lost two straight and have only won two league matches all season. They have not kept a clean sheet in six matches and have scored a league-worst 9 goals at home.
We expect Brighton to keep the good times rolling and to win this match easily on Saturday at St. Mary’s.
Southampton vs. Brighton Prediction: 1-3
Predicted Lineups
Southampton: Ramsdale; Bree, Bednarek, Wood; Walker-Peters, Smallbone, Fernandes, Aribo, Welington; Sulemana, Onuachu
Brighton: Verbruggen; Veltman, van Hecke, Webster; Lamptey; Minteh, Baleba, Hinshelwood, Mitoma; Rutter, Welbeck
Aston Villa vs. Chelsea
Villa Park, 4:30 AM, Sunday, February 23
Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town last weekend. They also suffered a 3-0 loss to Chelsea back in December. For these reasons, many EPL predictions have this one being an easy win for the Blues. We’re not so sure though.
The Chelsea that beat Villa last year is night and day compared to the one who will take the pitch this weekend. Enzo Maresca’s team have won just two league matches since December 22. They have become predictable in attack and very sloppy at the back.
An organised, high-energy team like Aston Villa should be able to cause this Chelsea team problems.
Aston Villa vs. Chelsea Prediction: 2-1
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Draw No Bet - Aston Villa | $1.98
Double Chance 1 - Villa WIN or DRAW | $1.50
UNDER 3.5 Goals | $1.60 |
Predicted Lineups
Villa: Martinez; Garcia, Kamara, Kamara, Digne; McGinn, Tielemans; Bailey, Rogers, Ramsey; Watkins
Chelsea: Jörgensen; Gusto, Chalobah, Colwill, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Neto, Palmer, Sancho; Nkunku
Newcastle vs. Nottingham Forest
St. James' Park, 1:00 AM, Monday, February 24
Newcastle had a chance to gain ground in the battle for top four last weekend against Manchester City. Instead though, the Magpies were completely outclassed and lost 4-0 to the Sky Blues. Nottingham Forest also suffered defeat last weekend, losing 2-1 to Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Despite the losses, we are expecting this to be a very hard-fought game. Forest have kept the most clean sheets in the EPL this season (10) and have really excelled with their new three-at-the-back formation that saw them create seven goals against Brighton three weeks ago.
With that being said, Newcastle have the upper hand recently. The club have won their last three matches against Forest. They could win again this weekend, but our money is on a draw.
Newcastle vs. Nottingham Forest Prediction: 1-1
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Double Chance 2 - Forest WIN or DRAW | $2.02
Goal in Both Halves - YES | $1.50
Both Teams To Score - YES | $1.63 |
Predicted Lineups
Newcastle: Dubravka; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Tonali, Guimaraes, Willock; Murphy, Isak, Gordon
Forest: Sels; Morato, Milenkovic, Murillo; Aina, Gibbs-White, Danilo, Anderson, Williams; Wood, Elanga
Manchester City vs. Liverpool
Etihad Stadium, 3:30 AM, Monday, February 24
If someone told us before the season that Liverpool would be 16 points ahead of Manchester City when they played in February, we would not have believed them. That’s exactly the case heading into this match though.
Arne Slot’s Liverpool are the most dominant and consistent team in the EPL this season and will likely be champions in May. Man City, on the other hand, are an aging, inconsistent mess.
The betting sites predict that this will be close, but we can’t see anything but a Liverpool win. Even with Nico Gonzalez, Man City’s midfield is still easy to outwork. Joško Gvardiol and Rico Lewis in City’s defence have been consistently beaten this season, so we can’t see them coping well with Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, and/or Luis Diaz.
We don’t think it will be a rout, but Liverpool should win this.
Manchester City vs. Liverpool Prediction: 1-2
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
UNDER 3.5 Goals | $1.77 | |
Total Goals By Liverpool - OVER 1.5 Goals | $1.70
Liverpool To WIN | $2.30 |
Predicted Lineups
Man City: Ederson; Lewis, Khusanov, Stones, Gvardiol; Gonzalez, Gundoga; Savio, Foden, Marmoush; Haaland
Liverpool: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz
